The Heles Angels Christmas Carol Service 2012

Our annual Christmas Carol Service took place at the Windmill Centre on Monday 17th January 2012. We had in excess of 120 people who came, sang, ate mince pies and dranked mulled wine and had a jolly old good time. Lots of praise, commitment and enjoyment came out of this event and we look forward to continuing it in December 2013.

We would like to thank Barton primary School Choir, Hele Baptist Church Choir, Tescos and Co-Op, The Windmill Centre (for their kind donations) and most of all the community who came together at this special time of year. Thanks again.

The clean-up and recycling day Saturday 28 July 2012

We worked closley with TOR2 to hold a recycle and clean-up day for the residents of Lichfield and adjoining area on Saturday 28 July.

A number of local organisations got involved to help on the day including, local street wardens, sanctuary housing, lichfield residents and tenants association and the Acorn centre. Over 40 volunteers turned out to help, this was made up of local residents, TOR2, local PCSO's, sanctuary housing officers and community pay-back.

TOR2 provided 4 large industrial container, to clear and recycle. In total 7
loads where taken away from 120 houses in the Lichfield and Salisbury areas,
which is a huge 50 tonnes of waste. A lot of items where also donated to our
community shop.

TOR2 where on hand to educate the local residents and people involved on how
to recycle their own things.

Chris Forster, neighbourhood manager said: "I would like to say a massive
thank you to all the volunteers that helped out on the day, their help really
made the day the success that it was.

 Public Meeting February 8th

We would just like to take a moment to say thank you to the over 40 people that attended the meeting on Wednesday 8 February.

Instead of the usual public meeting this one was a little different, the evening started with Marilyn Martin (Hele's Angels chair person) saying a few welcoming words. These words also explained the 5 trees that were dotted around the room each one having a meaning, skills, ideas, help, issues and volunteers. Each tree had paper leaves with string, this was so that the community had a chance to get involded and help people with the skills they have, Or to get some of their issues heard. There was also a lovely buffet provided by the Volunteers from Hand-to-Hand.
