We are commited to reducing crime and antisocial behaviour by working closely with the local police, street wardens, and the community. We believe that by doing this we can help make a safer and better place for everyone to live.

Please see the drop-ins page to talk to your local police officer or street warden.

What We Have Achieved Already...

Reduction in Anti-social behaviour

Anti-social behaviour has already begun to improve, reported cases are down 20% between 2008/9 and 2009/10.

Local reported crime has seen an even greater decrease falling 32% between 2008/9 and 2009/10.

An ASBO has been awarded excluding a key troublemaker from the area.

CCTV installation has increased prosecution of perpetrators of crime & ASB and generated a rise in reporting.

Neighbourhood Watch

The Devon and Cornwall Community Watch Association (DaCCWA) aims to promote good citizenship and greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime and quality of life issues. This is achieved by providing effective links between the Police and Neighbourhood Watch Community Coordinators.

Neighbourhood Watch Schemes are run by Coordinators and DaCCWA is keen to recognise anyone with at least ten years of service to the community.

If you are interested in getting involved with the Neighbourhood Watch, please contact us at the shop.

To report an issue to your local police, just dial 101. 101 is now the only number to call when you want to get through to your local police when it's less urgent than 999.
